DIY Toothpick Flag Wedding Favors

DIY Toothpick Flag Wedding Favors

Need:
Cardstock in your choice of color for pocket (purchase at your local super store or office supply store)
Patterned scrapbooking paper for flag and to embellish pocket (purchase at your local hobby store)
Buttons, ribbon, beads, feathers etc…to embellish pocket (purchase at your local hobby store)
Ink in a complimenting color (purchase at your local hobby store)
Toothpicks (purchase at your local grocery store)
All Purpose Glue (purchase at your local grocery store)
Scissors or a paper cutter (purchase at your local hobby store)
Ruler (purchase at your local hobby store)
Microsoft Office –Word and a home printer

Instructions:
In word insert one pentagon.  Extend the left hand side 20%.
Insert your initials, words, or message into the pentagon.
Copy and paste as many as you can fit on the page or as many as you need.

Cut your scrapbooking patterned paper down to an 8 ½ -11 size so you can easily print on it.
Print out your flags.
Cut out your flags.
Fold flag on flat side ½ cm from edge.
Place one bead of glue in fold.
Stick toothpick in fold and fold paper down firmly.
Set aside to dry.

Cut your colored or white card stock into 10.5 cm x 6 cm rectangles.  (I chose this size so you can make the most out of your paper)
Cut your patterned scrapbook paper into 2.5cm x 6cm rectangles.
Fold your card stock evenly 3cm from the bottom.
Glue folded card stock on each side near the edge to form a pocket.
Glue patterned paper to front of pocket
Glue any chosen embellishment to front of patterned paper.
Allow to dry.

Rub ink sponge lightly around the edges of your pockets.

Place completed (and dry) flags in their pockets and you now have toothpick favors for your wedding guests.
Another nice touch would be to print a special message from the wedding couple to the guest on the back of the pocket.
